You can set a default authentication method for your account.  This is for your convenience where the default method will automatically be used and you will not have to manually select a method when prompted.

Step 1

Go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com and click "Update Info" under "Security info"

Step 2

Click "Change" next to "Default sign-in method"

Step 3

Click "App based authentication - notification" and then "Confirm"

Step 4

The new method will now be your default. Each time you sign in it will use this method.
