How to Log in to XProtect Smart Client
This guide walks you through logging in to XProtect Smart Client after installing it from the Company Portal.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Connect to the VPN
- Before launching XProtect, ensure your computer is connected to the university's VPN (Global Protect).
- If you're not connected to the VPN, you will not be able to reach the server.
- Launch XProtect Smart Client
- Once XProtect is installed from the Company Portal, the XProtect Smart Client shortcut should appear on your Desktop.
- Double-click the XProtect icon to open the program.
- Change the Computer Name in the Login window
- In the Login window, you'll see a field labeled "Computer".
- Delete the existing computer name in that field.
- Replace it with dsu-mileman-01.sgc.local
- Below are screenshots of the default configuration and the updated computer name for reference.
- Connect
- Click the “Connect” button.
- You should now be logged in and able to use XProtect Smart Client.
